Welcome

Sikh is defined as someone in search of, learner, or seeking the truth. Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh philosophy saw the world suffering from hatred and divided based on religious boundaries.  He urged everyone to seek within their own heart and realize that the one Creator is pervading in every heart, regardless of religion, color or creed.

He asked everyone to adopt three simple virtues. These principles described below are the central element of our constitution at Sikhs for Humanity.

Kirat Karna

Earn an honest livelihood

No one should become a burden on one’s family or society.  Unless they contribute, one has no right to claim benefits from society.

Naam Jaapna

Seek within

In the name of religion many profit and pray on the ignorant.  Others are busy with worldly display of their empty rituals. Guru Nanak asked everyone to search the truth within and avoid the trap of one’s own ego.

Wandh Chakna

Share with others

He asked everyone to share resources with other members of society without discrimination of any kind.  This forms the basis of social obligation of every individual to fellow human beings.

We are a non-political, non-profit and independent body engaged in seeking and providing assistance to those in desperate need of help. As Sikhs, we are obligated to see everyone as equals. Therefore, there is no discrimination based on religion, gendor, colour, etc...
